Software Description

Machinations is a browser-based platform designed for visualizing, simulating, and balancing game systems. It allows designers to map out game mechanics using a flowchart-like interface, where elements such as resources, players, converters, and gates can be connected to model dynamic systems. By running simulations, users can test how mechanics evolve over time under different conditions, revealing potential issues in balance, pacing, or progression before implementation. Machinations supports both deterministic and stochastic behaviors, making it particularly effective for analyzing complex interactive systems in games, including economies, progression loops, and monetization strategies. No coding is required.

Access Instructions

Sign up for a free Public Plan to use this software.

  1. Visit Machincations.io.
  2. Click the Register button in the upper right corner.
  3. Use your Google account, or enter an email address and password to a Machinations account.
  4. Machinations will offer a free trial of their paid plan. You can skip the trial and stay on the free Public Plan, however.
