What exactly is a hypervisor? Simply put, a hypervisor is software that allows us to create and manage virtual machines (VMs). Think of it as a tool that helps us build virtual versions of real computers.
A virtual machine is a software-based simulation of a physical computer. It behaves just like a real computer, with its own operating system, files, and programs—but instead of existing as a separate device, it runs inside a virtual container on the host computer. This setup gives us the flexibility to run multiple virtual systems side-by-side while also protecting our actual computer from the malicious software we’ll be examining.
