Access Instructions

VS Code is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.

  1. Visit the Official Website: Download Visual Studio Code from the official Visual Studio Code website.
  2. Install VS Code: Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
  3. Add Extensions for Enhanced Functionality:
    1. Browse and install extensions directly from the Extensions Marketplace within VS Code by clicking the Extensions icon in the sidebar or pressing Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on macOS).
    2. Extensions allow you to customize and expand VS Code’s capabilities based on your development needs.
    3. Popular extensions provide features such as syntax highlighting, debugging tools, Git integration, and support for additional programming languages.

Note: These instructions are for installation on your personal computer. Please do not install this on Champlain College on-campus lab computers.
